A vital archival issue from Elemental Music, Golden Flower | Live in Sweden captures two remarkable performances by Yusef Lateef, both sourced from Swedish radio and television archives and officially released for the first time. These sets underline Lateef's expansive musical language, shifting fluidly between modal jazz, blues inflections, and non-Western tonalities, all expressed with his signature warmth and spiritual intensity. Transferred from the original tapes and restored and mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab in Los Angeles, the release presents Lateef in two distinct ensembles: a 1967 quartet with Lars Sjösten, Palle Danielsson and Albert "Tootie" Heath, and a 1972 festival performance featuring Kenny Barron, Bob Cunningham and Heath. The sleeve is fully laminated with flipbacks & just a little minor laminate peel to the reverse with light wear to the edges. The vinyl is a clean VG/VG- with somelight scuffs to both sides.
