 | ARTHUR RUSSELL Another Thought (2013 UK 15-track double vinyl
LP. Single pocket picture sleeve with alternate artwork with lyric
inners. Another Thought is absolutely essential for even the
most casual Arthur Russell collection and is theonly place where you
can hear some of Arthur’s most recognisable music including title
track Another Thought, A Little Lost, This Is How We Walk On The
Moon, Keeping Up and the woozy disco of In The Light Of The Miracle
and My Tiger, My Timing. Originally released in 1994. The inners have
small annotations written on them but the sleeve is in Near Mint
condition. The vinyl reveals only light signs of play and handling.
Highly recommended)
Tracklisting: Another Thought was the first collection of Arthur Russell’s music to be released after his death in 1992. Released on CD by Point Music in 1993 it marked the beginning of nearly 30 years of work to let the world hear the enormous archive of unreleased recordings Arthur left behind. Be With revisits this first compilation for a new gatefold double vinyl version and a triple-fold digipak CD re-issue.
This is the only place where you can hear some of Arthur’s most recognisable music, like the title track Another Thought, A Little Lost, This Is How We Walk On The Moon, Keeping Up and the woozy disco of In The Light Of The Miracle and My Tiger, My Timing. Though technically a compilation, the whole of Another Thought comes together as a consistent, coherent, wonderful album.
Thanks to Janette Beckman for helping us reproduce her iconic photograph of Arthur in his newspaper boat hat for the new vinyl sleeve. And thanks also to Arthur’s partner Tom Lee for giving us permission to include his liner notes from the original CD booklet, together with Arthur’s lyrics.
Another Thought is absolutely essential for even the most casual Arthur Russell collection. In fact we’d argue it’s essential for any fan of non-obvious pop music.

 | DOVES Some Cities (2019 UK/EU limited edition 11-track
double album 2-LP pressed on White Vinyl.
Co-produced by the band and Ben Hillier, their third album
was recorded in typically nomadic fashion, with sessions in
Manchester, Liverpool, London and a former Benedictine
Monastery in the Scottish Highlands! As a statement of intent,
lead single, Black and White Town stopped traffic; a
rug-cutting stomp that recalled the talc-dusted, amphetamine
rush of the northern soul, onlyto be followed by the incisive
Snowden, with Jez William’s ethereal guitar accents and ‘that’
melodramatic wall of strings as its returning motif. Single
pocket picture sleeve individually numbered, hype sticker &
factory sealed)
Tracklisting: The band’s musicianship, breadth of musical passions and collective and individual strengths – Jimi’s direct and credible delivery, Jez’ strokes of perfectly judged guitar and Andy’s wide-ranging percussive gift – had produced arguably their most rewarding album to date and the second Doves album to go straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart.
