Along with Derek Bailey & Sonny Sharrock, Ray Russell was one of the earliest exponents of free jazz guitar-playing, & would go on to influence a generation of guitar-terrorists from Rudolph Grey, James Blood Ulmer right through to Thurston Moore & Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth. Well known and a personal friend of many of the stars that she collected autographs from, she had unprecedented access to backstage areas and VIP Events that enabled her to amass a vast collection of autographs with consequent impeccable provenance.
