A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...
| CLIFF RICHARD AND THE DRIFTERS Cliff (Very rare 1959 UK
first issue 16-track mono LP on the dark green & gold
Columbia label, pressed on heavyweight vinyl with sturdy
front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve shows
very little signsof wear, whilst the vinyl has a couple of light
surface scuffs/hairlines but show very little spindle wear.
Overall a fantastic EX copy of this Cliff rarity sixty years on
33SX1147)
Tracklisting: Details
Recorded live in front of a few hundred invited fans on February 9th & 10th 1959, this was the first LP release by Cliff & The Shadows, with 'The Drifters' name lasting just a few singles and this LP before they became The Shadows we all know today.
A brave move for a debut album, but a more 'party' atmosphere was injected into otherwise familiar songs, making it probably the first true British Rock & Roll record.
The newly christened 'Cliff' was just eighteen at the time.
