A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...
 | LOU REED Hangin' 'Round (Rare 1973 Japanese wide centre promo
sample 7" for the single release with custom black on white labels,
pressed on black vinyl which is translucent when held to the light, also
including Perfect Day, complete with the original textured picture
insert printed with the lyrics to both songs on the reverse. This
example remains in an amazing condition, the insert has just light
signs of handling and very light signs of age. The labels are very clean
and the vinyl remains in a 'near mint' condition. A stunning example
and the first we have ever seen) |
 | THE BEATLES Revolver (Rare 1966 UK second issue 14-track
mono vinyl LP , G&L front laminated flipback picture sleeve. A
noted discrepancy is that the label is printed 'DOCTOR
ROBERT', whereas the sleeve lists 'DR. ROBERT', as opposed to
laterpressings which credit 'DOCTOR' on both PMC7009)

The black and yellow Parlophone labels are in highly respectable condition with light marks around spindle hole. The text is brigarly legible.
The vinyl shows a few light signs of play - VG.
The Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated flipback picture sleeve shows medium wear/creasing along the edges with only a little negligible yellowing/ringwear near the edges with secure flipbacks - astonishing for its age!
All in all, a nice VG copy! |
 | JIMI HENDRIX Are You Experienced (Classic 1967 UK first
pressing 11-track Mono LP, front laminated Ernest J. Day
picture sleeve) See 'More Info' for further details on
this rarity... #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: As emblematic of its time as of its sorcerer-like creator, 1967's Are You Experienced? unleashed Jimi Hendrix onto a world in the midst of such cultural and musical shake-ups that it really didn't seem as 'far out' as it actually was.
It wasn't just Hendrix's virtuosic skill as a pure player that was so impressive, it was even more the range and scope of sheer sound that he coaxed, cajoled and ripped out of his instrument. His songs filled ears with indelible sonic images and songs like 'Foxy Lady' and '3rd Stone From The Sun' pointed the way toward a new brand of rock-charged soul music.
Like the later 'Axis', the Mono is a very different mix to the Stereo version and the band are more 'upfront'. This is not the same mix that is heard on the modern Mono reissue as that was sourced from the US Stereo masters which were themselves copies of the UK Stereo masters. Although the Mono master tapes were not left in a Taxi like the first mix of 'Axis', the original banded masters for the Mono mix have long since disappeared, with some tracks being cut for compilation releases, leaving only incomplete fragments of this mix still around today. Even some of the CD release Mono cuts were sourced from vinyl.
Condition
The Ernest J Day picture sleeve shows some creasing to the laminate & a degree of edge scuffing. The spine has suffered notable edgewear yet the unlaminated back shows only mild wear and remains clearly readable.
The labels are black with silver print and large Track Record logo at the top. There are just a few spindle marks visible around the centre hole, indicating some play.
The matrix numbers end A-1/B-1 indicating that this copy was one of the first pressed. They are as follows:
Side One 612001 A1
Side Two 612001 B1
The vinyl has retained its sheen indicating less than average play. The playing surface shows a few light scuffs & hairlines on both sides, but performs well, with just a few audible pops on the track 'Red House'. Thanks to the quality of sixties vinyl pressings from this period, the mono playback does not stray.
There is an inevitable degree of surface noise between the tracks and occasionally during quieter passages.
While by no means mint, we are happy to offer this original UK copy of a classic Hendrix rarity at an advantageous price. With demand ever increasing on the collectors market, and the ability with modern sound editing tools to process out the defects, these are getting increasingly difficult to find in any condition.

 | BOB DYLAN Blonde On Blonde (1970 UK 'smooth' label issue
of the 1966 14-track Stereo double LP. This can be identified
as a pressing from post 1969 by the change of credit from 'B.
Feldman' to 'Big Ben Music' for record one, front laminated
gatefold picture sleeve with Claudia Cardinale picture inside)
SEE 'More Info' for further details ... #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: This can be differentiated from the 1969 issue by the change in label credit from 'B. Feldman' to 'Big Ben Music'. The title of 'Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again' is shortened to 'Memphis Blues Again' and 'Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat' is in upper case.
This retains the mono sleeve from the previous issue but was stereo only, so the '<-Stereo->' sticker is omitted.
Condition:
The sleeve shows only a little light shelfwear & lovely clean laminate.
The vinyl remains near 'as new' with very little suggestion of play. A nice copy of this seldom found issue in lovely condition.
