DAVID BOWIE The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust (Very rare & highly sought after 1972 first UK pressing 11-track vinyl LP, with 'Titanic/Chrysalis' credit on the labels & the all important 1E/1E matrix numbersindicating a true first issue, matt picture sleeve with illustrated lyric inner. This original pre-dates the Mainman contract & as such has no reference to Mainman anywhere on the sleeve or record label SF8287)
See 'More Info' for full details on the background & condition of this rarity...

Tracklisting: Every track on Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars sounds like it was pulled from the rock 'n' roll bible. The album created a mythology that reached beyond the Chuck Berry folklorisms of the everyday rocker to create a new type of rockstar. With Ziggy, Bowie created a viable alter-ego to descend onto the planet & wreak havoc on rock's fertile soil & in doing so, he created the most original rock creation since the music's inception 20 years before. Musically, the album was as inspired as Ziggy's persona. Mick Ronson's snarling guitar evoked the triumphant power of the late '60s guitar heroes, but added a flash so dynamic fans knew why the Spiders were labelled 'glitter rockers'. History & Condition This first issue pre-dates the Mainman contract & as such there are NO Mainman references or logos anywhere on the sleeve or record label. There is a logo on the rear of the sleeve with the text 'A Gem Production' The matrix numbers in the run out groove are: BGBS 0864 -1E & BGBS 0865-1E The black & white lyric inner shows little of its age with tiny tear to opening edge. The sleeve shows light ringwear with a little creasing to corners. The label is the original thick orange glossy Victor variant & is free from writing or tears, whilst the vinyl itself is the thick & strong pressing, unlike many later pressings which used Dynaflex flexi vinyl. The vinyl is clean & grades EX- with a few faint paper hairlines & the occasional paper scuff; a medium hairline throughout Moonage Daydream which has no effect on play. A nice, if not mint, example & a genuine first pressing that is becoming increasingly hard to find. Tracklisting :- 1. Five Years 2. Soul Love 3. Moonage Daydream 4. Starman 5. It Ain't Easy 6. Lady Stardust 7. Star 8. Hang on to Yourself 9. Ziggy Stardust 10. Suffragette City 11. Rock & Roll Suicide
CREAM Wheels Of Fire - In The Studio - VG (1968 UK first issue 9-track mono LP, housed in a silver metallicised picture sleeve with 'In The Studio' text on the back. The sleeve is graded VG with a name annotation and moderate general wear, whilst the vinyl is VG+ with just a few light hairlines to indicate play. A respectable & very desirable first press)

Tracklisting: 1. White Room 2. Sitting On Top Of The World 3. Passing The Time 4. As You Said 5. Pressed Rat And Warthog 6. Politician 7. Those Were The Days 8. Born Under A Bad Sign 9. Deserted Cities Of The Heart
