NICK MASON Inside Out - A Box of Delights (2005 UK extremely limited edition of just FIVE HUNDRED leather bound copies of Nick's book, given the full Genesis Publications high quality treatment and housed in a huge 'Box Of Delights' full of goodies. Each copy is unique & individually hand numbered and AUTOGRAPHED by Nick, with this copy number 237. The box, the leather binding for the book & the components of the box of delights have been designed by Storm Thor
See 'More Info' for further details ...
** Complete With Certificate Of Authenticity **gerson of Hipgnosis!)

Tracklisting: THE CONTENTS : - 'Once upon a time my friend, design guru, infuriator and voice of conscience Storm Thorgerson told me that the experience of having a book published would be a completely different one to that of releasing an album.' Nick Mason, from his monograph included in the box set. THE BOX :- This large-format box of delights is strictly limited to 500 numbered sets signed by Nick Mason. Each strong presentation box is handmade in buckram to a design specification which securely holds in place all the fascinating elements of this unique collectors' edition. An image created by Storm Thorgerson is set into the front above a silver foiled logo. The spine lettering is also in silver foil. THE BOOK :- A full leather bound numbered and signed copy of Nick Mason's highly acclaimed book 'INSIDE OUT - A personal history of Pink Floyd'. Each copy is hand bound in goatskin leather over 3mm mill boards, with a silk ribbon marker and two-colour silk head and tail bands by the craftsmen at The Abbey Bookbindery employing traditional centuries-old techniques. (The skilled workers at Abbey also carry out restoration binding of rare volumes for The British Museum, London) A full colour image created especially for the limited edition is set into the front cover. The page edges are silver foiled and there is silver tooling on the spine and front. THE MONOGRAPH BOOKLET :- 'Inside Out represents ten years on and off (mainly off) of dredging back through my memories and those of friends, colleagues, the band's ex-wives (quite a substantial collection there), press cuttings, boxes of T-shirts, and fan websites (invaluable), before attempting to construct a fair recollection of events.' Nick Mason, from his monograph. In this 3,500 word monograph (exclusive to this boxed set), Nick describes with considerable wit his new experiences as a successful author. He writes about the rest of the band's reaction to the book but the real humour comes from his recollections of his book-promotional activities in various countries. ART PRINTS BY STORM THORGERSON :- Two fine art prints, size 20" x 15". They are both created, signed and numbered by Storm Thorgerson. Each one is silk-screened in 27 colours on Somerset tub sized 410gsm paper, by Coriander Studios. Each is a superb collector's item in its own right. AN ORIGINAL PINK FLOYD BACKSTAGE PASS :- To demonstrate his commitment and enthusiasm for the project, Nick Mason donated 500 assorted original Pink Floyd backstage passes from his personal collection - there are at least 7 different kinds of backstage pass. One pass to each box. T-SHIRT :- One minute a fine art print, the next a T-shirt design - Another exquisite creation from Storm. A great Medium sized mushroom coloured T-shirt. A 'HI HAT' :- A woolly hat with 'Hi' logo. So, it's a hi hat. Storm's idea of course. Warm in winter but like the T-shirt, you probably won't want to take it out of the box. PAIR OF EXCLUSIVE DRUMSTICKS 'n' DRUMMER STUFF :- A pair of American hickory drumsticks prepared for Nick Mason especially for this edition by Pro-Mark. Also a drum key with lanyard and a 'Paiste' logo cymbal shaped badge/tiepin. A UNIQUE POLAROID :- You may possibly receive the same backstage pass as another owner of this edition but you most definitely WON'T receive the same Polaroid. That's because there were 500 different individual shots of Nick at work on the project taken, so the Polaroid in this box is unique to this boxed set. 12 POSTCARDS :- A set of postcards in a hard cover wallet, depicting the band in various incarnations, together with more imagery including alternative versions from Storm. Record Collector Magazine writes :- 'Genesis books are in a league of their own. They speak a visual language constructed on their own terms and they're finished to a quality, which reduces other mere ordinary books to the level of pulp paperbacks. Just as importantly, their texts open up the worlds of their subjects ... rewarding the reader with unprecedented access and insight. We concur. Apart from a few minor marks around the edges of the box, this remains in a stunning condition. A genuinely amazing piece !
