 | ROY HARPER Stormcock (Classic 1971 UK 4-track LP on the
'Gramophone Co' Harvest label without EMI boxed
logo, now widely regarded as amongst Roy's finest work, if
not the finest, Stormcock was notso well received by the
record company at the time & consequently sales were slow &
steady, rather than dramatic, textured gatefold picture
sleeve. The sleeve shows some general wear most notably at
the bottom of the opening edge. The vinyl shows some light
spindlewear and two tinycosmetic scuffs that would not
impact play. A very good, almost excellent example SHVL789)

focuses on the later period of their career when Roger Waters
hadquit & David Gilmour, Rick Wright & Nick Mason were left
to continue on their own to produce studio albums &
undertake massive world tours. Both 'A Momentary Lapse Of
Reason' & 'Delicate Sound Of Thunder' have been remixed,
with the former also'updated' [thought to be new Nick Mason
drums & alternate Rick Wright parts] across the first three
CDs while the fourth gathers together unreleased live & studio
recordings & the fifth contains their 57 minute Knebworth
concert from 1990. The Blu-Rays contain new 5.1 mixes of the
two albums, a Restored & Re-edited version of 'Pulse', their
Venice & Knebworth concerts & more, while the DVDs contain
the content of five of the six discs; while the two vinyl etched
7"s include 'Arnold Layne' performed live by Pink Floyd at the
Syd Barrett Tribute concert in 2007 & 'Lost For Words' from

Between 2016 and 2024, Pink Floyd's catalogue in the UK and EU was marketed and distributed by Parlophone Records / Warner Music Group Company, usually under the band's own Pink Floyd Records imprint. This period saw a comprehensive reissue campaign covering all core albums on 180-gram vinyl, as well as selected CD box sets and deluxe editions. With the catalogue now transferred to Sony, all Warner-issued pressings are out of print, enhancing their collectability and marking them as part of a distinct phase in the band's release history. |
