THE GREAT ZOOT SIMS Down Home (Impossibly Rare Pair of Single-Sided Test Pressings for the 1961 UK 8-track mono LP, also starring Dave McKenna (piano), George Tucker (bass) & Dannie Richmond (drums). The Parlophone labels are custom black on white with 'Not For Sale' print. The artist, album title & song details are annotated in blue pen on the labels' playing side of both discs, & the matrices in the run-outs are machine stamped: BCP 12 6051A-1N/ BCP 12 6051B-1N. This incredible one-off rarity originates from the private collection of a former staff member for Dobells record shop in Charing Cross, untouched for over half a century. Only a small handful of these were pressed to test the sonics & there can be few surviving copies left.
