ZOOT SIMS QUARTET Zoot (1957 US first issue 8-track deep groove mono LP on a black & silver Argo label, the very crux of Cool Jazz on record, cut in NYC, 12th October 1956 with Johnny Williams on Piano, Knobby Totah on Bass & Gus Johnson on Drums, pasted picture sleeve with historic tape reinforcement at each closed edge. The cover shows just one or two tiny half inch paper splits at the edges or corners & all text is clearly legible. The vinyl is super clean & plays beautifully. We would grade the disc a conservative VG/VG+ as there are just a few faint paper hairline scuffs not interfering with play. Recommended LP-708)
