AL STEWART / FOTHERINGAY / MICHAEL CHAPMAN /
COLOSSEUM / SOFT MACHINE / DEEP PURPLE / MIGHTY BABY A
Peter Bowyer Presentation (Wonderful 1970 UK 8" x 10"
programme for the week long 'Festival Of Progressive Music'
held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London in May that year. Al
Stewart was touring 'Love Chronicles' and opened the festival
with an early set at 6:15, followed at 9PM by the incredible
Fotheringay with Sandy Denny, ably supported by the 'Fully
Qualified Survivor', Michael Chapman. The next day saw
Colosseum, who played both the early & late set slots, as did
Soft Machine the following day. The final day saw Deep Purple
headlining with Mighty Baby as support. Had I been able, I
would probably have gone to every night. An eclectic
gathering to be sure, but all quality. This particular
programme also has pairs of ticket stubs for Saturday 23rd
evening performance & a pair for Monday 25th's early
performance. This copy remains in remarkable condition for
forty five year old paper goods & is free from any tears or
writing)

VARIOUS Georgie Fame, Chris Farlowe, Butterfield Blues
Band, Eric Burdon, Geno Washington (Superb 1966 UK sixteen
page tour programme for a sixteen date package tour put on
by Radio London, with photos and mini biographies for each
artist on the bill. The tour started on October 20th at Finsbury
Park in London & ended on November 6th at The Odeon,
Leicester. What was unusual is that Radio London sent Disc
Jockeys including Tony Blackburn & Ed Stewart arounbd the
country to comperethe event, even though most of the tour
was in areas that could not receive Radio London! This must
have been one hell of a tour and a very early exposure to
British audiences of the relatively unknown Butterfield Blues
Band. This programme is in amazing condition for nearly fifty
year old paper goods, looking nearly 'as new' with just a little
edge scuffing to show for all those years in the wild)

FESTIVAL PROGRAM Treworgey Tree Fayre (Remember the days when
the Great British Music Festival was more of a debauched hedonistic
mudfest where you didn't go to the toilet for three days & couldn't
remember if you had a good time or not, rather than the disinfected
fun-fair-with-beanburgers that the modern outdoor event has become
? This was one of the last 'real' music festivals, running for three days
over four stages & a splendid time was guaranteed for all) See

VARIOUS Radio Luxembourg Book Of Record Stars No. 4
(Another Sixties curio here. This wonderful 1965 156-page
hardback annual contains not only the evidence of just how
popular the 'underground' Radio Luxembourg was in Britain
[This was stilla full two years before the BBC started their
own 'Pop' station] but with the stars of the time themselves.
The introduction is by none other than The Beatles, quite
possibly the hottest property on the planet at that time, but
also contributions from Elvis Presley, Georgie Fame, Dusty
Springfield, Wayne Fontana, Cliff Richard, Petula Clark, Alan
Freeman, The Animals and many more. Lavishly illustrated
throughout with rare black & white photographs, this is a little
time capsule waiting to be opened. The outer cover shows a
little scuffing with some damage to the top of the spine, but
all pages inside remain in wonderful condition)
