Comprised of three separate sections which were all used in-house as a reference tool, the first section is 3 x A4 sheets of A4 facsimile paper detailing layout/font etc [this was how it was done pre-computers!], the second 3 x page section are the inner sleeve production notes and the third 16 x page section contains proof lyrics for the album with hand annotated corrections! MORRISSEY Viva Hate (Rare 1988 WITHDRAWN UK uncut thick card printer proof for the vinyl LP outer sleeve front and back. With registration, proofing and colour bars, with the outer sleeve measuring 26"X 15" whilst the untrimmed inner measures 25" x 12½". This proof was NEVER used, the differences being the border on Morrissey's name is orange wheras the finished copy is black/dark, the label text info on the reverse is also dark orange, unlike the creamy yellow of the finished sleeve - the most striking difference is that the sleeve is textured and generally a lighter grey overall - was this a prototype for a planned textured sleeve? We may never know, what we do know is that this is another unique Morrissey work in progress that has remained unfolded and shows very little wear overall.
