JOHN LEE HOOKER Urban Blues (1967 US 12-track stereo LP on ABC
Bluesway, a great album from the Blues legend, covering quite an
array of subjects, from love & inner city life to the Detroit City riots &
tails of the railroad. The pasted picture sleeve shows a few mild
patches of paper loss to a few corners, natural with US covers of this
vintage, with all text clearly legible & complete with the catalogue
inner. The heavyweight vinyl is a lovely VG+/EX- with just mild
evidence of play. Recommended BLS-6012)

JOHN LEE HOOKER Travelin' - 1st (1960 US mono 12-track
vinyl LP with 'VeeJay 601478' in the run out groove,
heavyweight pasted picture sleeve. Classic Hooker album that
saw him update his sound with a full band set-up, includes
Canal Street Blues, Whiskey And Wimmen, Goin' To California
- deep blues one and all, not afraid to detail life in all its
ragged glory! The picture sleeve [and what a picture sleeve it
is!] shows only minor wear; some slight discolouration to the
reverse with one tiny pen mark in the bottom right hand
corner, the vinyl is superb, just the odd light scuff and plays
beautifully - a top copy and the first we've ever had

JOHN LEE HOOKER Sings Blues (Monster rare 1960 first US
issue mono LP on the deep groove black & silver King label,
featuring sixteen selections by the Blues titan, every one a
pearl, including such evocative titles as 'Devil's Jump' &
'Nightmare Blues'. The pasted laminate sleeve is stunning
looking, with all text legible & a perfect spine. As is the way
with US covers of this vintage, the sleeve has picked a little
edge scuffing top & bottom but it remains very minimal, with
justa tiny half inch tape repair bottom right. The vinyl is
clean & in Excellent condition with only light paper scuffs not
affecting play. A fantastic discovery!)

JOHN LEE HOOKER The Folk Lore Of John Lee Hooker
(Amazing 1964 US second issue of the 1961 12-track Mono
compilation LP, pasted picture sleeve with 'Stereo' sticker on
the front although it still is probably Mono. It is impossible to
say for sure which label variationthis copy has as by some
miracle it has remained FACTORY SEALED for the last
fifty years & remains pristine, just as you would have bought
it way back then. The album was first issued in 1961 with a
rainbow rimlabel with the company name in an oval or later
brackets. This second issue happened just as Vee-Jay
changed printers and is without the 'Made In U.S.A.' text on
the front. A magnificent copy of this selection of classic
recordings LP1033)

JOHN LEE HOOKER I'm John Lee Hooker (Amazing 1964 US
