BURUNDI BLACK Burundi Black (Parts 1 & 2 1981 UK 12"
single, a very influential record which first came out in 1971.
French artist Michel Bernholc used the pseudonym Mike
Steiphenson to adapt an old field recording of drummers from
Burundi’s musical ensemble Ingoma Tribe, remixing it for the
Disco crowd, this version was also remixed by Blitz club DJ
Rusty Egan. Malcolm McLaren loved it, Adam Ant sampled it &
Bow Wow Wow, Slits, PiL & Siouxie & The Banshees all led the
wave of theBurundi post-punk beat. The picture sleeve shows
a little ring wear creasing & the vinyl is Excellent with few
signs of play BAX1)
