Gandalf - VG

GANDALF Gandalf (Monster rare 1969 US 10-track stereo vinyl LP with rainbow rimmed Capitol label design, pasted picture sleeve. A psychedelic holy grail from this super obscure New York band who released just one longplayer which, due to an indifferent label and poor distribution [many copies were sent out with the wrong record inside the sleeve!], sank without trace. Unlike many 'lost classics' this one doesn't disappoint; although consisting mainly of covers [three by Tim Hardin and several by the Turtles songwriting team Alan Gordon & Garry Bonner], it has a distinct musical identity not unlike Odyssey & Oracle era Zombies - yes, that good. Tracklisting & More Information

Sleeve condition: The sleeve is graded G/VG due to tape reinforced edges and a seam split along part of the spine. It all still holds together and the psychedelic front image is still bright and strong.

Vinyl condition: The vinyl is strictly graded Very Good, light hairlines and a couple of faint scuffs are visible. Playtesting reveals a great sounding record with only the odd 'pop' and 'crackle' in the quietest of sections.

Counterfeit versions of this LP exist, this is a genuine copy and is identifiable by the following;

Pressing info: Matrix / Runout (Run-out (hand-etched) A-side): ST1-121-B2
