BIG STAR #1 Record (Super rare original 1972 US 12-track vinyl LP on the Memphis-based Ardent label, housed in a full colour back pasted picture sleeve. A commercial flop on release, this album is now rightfully regarded as a classic, showcasing the considerable songwriting talents of Alex Chilton and Chris Bell plus wonderful production from Ardent Studio's John Fry. This hugely influential record was released to total indifference at the time [Ardent was distributed by Stax who didn't know how to market the album]. The sleeve has a small deletion notch cut in the spine and otherwise shows very little wear, the vinyl has a couple of minor blemishes/faint hairlines and is overall in Excellent condition. The albums lack of sales mean this is a very hard item to find regardless of condition, this is only the second copy we've ever offered for sale in over thirty years trading! ADS-2803)
