Works: 1965-1995

STEVE REICH Works: 1965-1995 (Rare 1997 US 83-track, 10CD boxset, housed in a deluxe hardback slipcase with 136 page booklet. Superb and definitive overview of one of the pioneers of minimalism and contemporary classical, includes his early experiments with 'phasing' and tape loops from 1965 [It's Gonna Rain, Piano Phase] through to a blending of African percussion with modern classical techniques recorded in 1974 [Drumming] up to what is often regarded as his finest work; Different Trains/Electric Counterpoint from 1986. The box shows only light shelfwear, the discs and booklet are in wonderful 'as new' condition. Reich's influence on modern music is profound, with early work prefiguring digiital sampling techniques, the incorporation of world music techniques alongside some moments of real beauty too - a must!)
