A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...

STEVE REICH & THE KRONOS QUARTET Different Trains (1989 German first press 6-track LP, a stunning three-movement piece for string quartet & tape, a novel experiment at the time, using recorded speech as a source for melodies. Reich even transfered the speech recordings into a digital sampling keyboard (a Casio FZ-1), & won the Grammy Award for Best Classical Contemporary Composition that year. Never fear Pat Metheny fans, Electric Counterpoint on the other side is equally as special &was later performed in concert as a tribute by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood. Complete with the album insert, the picture sleeve is Excellent with the odd small corner crease & the vinyl appears near 'as new')

Tracklisting: A1 Kronos Quartet America - Before The War 8:59 A2 Kronos Quartet Europe - During The War 7:31 A3 Kronos Quartet After The War 10:20 B1 Pat Metheny Fast 6:51 B2 Pat Metheny Slow 3:21 B3 Pat Metheny Fast 4:29
STEVE REICH The String Quartets | Mivos Quartet (2023 UK/EU limited edition double album 2-LP pressed on two 180-gram vinyl records cut at 45RPM - Between 1988 and 2010, Steve Reich composed three string quartets - 'Different Trains', 'TripleQuartet' and 'WTC 9/11'. Deutsche Grammophon now presents this trilogy of works for the first time on one album, in definitive new recordings from the Mivos Quartet. Picture sleeve, factory sealed)

Tracklisting: Hailed by The Chicago Reader as “one of America's most daring and ferocious new-music ensembles”, the Mivos players developed their interpretations of the three quartets - inspired by the music of speech, echoes of Bartók and the events of a day transformed by terror - in close collaboration with the composer. Reich himself supported the project from inception to completion, answering the group's questions about fine musical details, offering advice on matters of style and endorsing the finished album. 'Steve Reich: The String Quartets', featuring notes by veteran radio host and music writer John Schaefer, is set for release on CD and on vinyl (2 LPs). Side A WTC 9/11 1 I. 9/11/01 2 II. 2010 3 III. STEVE REICH with KRONOS QUARTET & PAT METHENY Electric Counterpoint (1989 German 6-track LP, a wonderful album that combines Reich's repetitive, cyclical approach to music with the fluid guitar work of Metheny, the title track is also where the Orb found the sample for Little Fluffy Clouds - so now you know! The picture sleeve is custom stickered & complete with two inserts. The sleeve shows barely any wear with age & the vinyl is near 'as new')

Tracklisting: Different Trains A1 Kronos Quartet America - Before The War 8:59 A2 Kronos Quartet Europe - During The War 7:31 A3 Kronos Quartet After The War 10:20 Electric Counterpoint B1 Pat Metheny Fast 6:51 B2 Pat Metheny Slow 3:21 B3 Pat Metheny Fast 4:29
