GENTLE GIANT Octopus (1977 Japanese spaceship label issue of the 1972 8-track LP, the formidable fourth album which marked the last involvement of eldest Shulman brother Phil, & first outing for third drummer John Weathers, who stayed with theband thereafter, engineered by Martin Rushent [T-Rex, Yes, Buzzcocks, Stranglers], this is a cult classic among prog fans. Includes the brain-melting complexity of Knots, full of interlocking vocal harmonies wedded to bold symphonicrock sounds, single pocket picture sleeve with Japanese/lyric insert. The cover is Excellent with just a spot of ring wear & the vinyl appears Near Mint RJ-7265)
