Tracklisting & More Information

DVD1 & 2 Rock Case Studies: These DVDs look beyond the glitz and the glamour to get to the heart of what made Abba so special. We hear from John Tobler and Jeff Rose, two publicists for the band who give unique insights into what it was like to work and socialise with the one of the hottest properties the pop industry had ever seen. Rod Leissle, the founder of Björn Again – the world’s most successful tribute group – pays tribute to the band’s superb stagecraft, while respected session musician Les Davidson analyses the songs and lyrics of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.
No retrospective would be complete without the songs and the programme features superb footage of the band in action performing their greatest tunes, including rare film taken from US Television's Dick Cavett Show and features highlights from:
* Waterloo
* Mamma Mia
* Knowing Me, Knowing You
* Dancing Queen
* Thank You For The Music
* The Winner Takes It All

DVD3 World’s Greatest Albums 'Arrival': October 1976 was a watershed for ABBA. It was the month that saw the release of their Arrival album – the record that took their song writing and studio achievements to new levels. What was more, it was the first album by the band to gather critical plaudits as the beautifully-crafted songs revealed genuine depth – ABBA were obviously far more than Eurovision one-hit wonders. This unique DVD is an in-depth look at one of the best-loved and most important albums in popular music. To help tell the story of the making of 'Arrival', the programme enlists the help of a team of respected music industry figures, including ex-Smash Hits editor Emma Jones and Capital Radio DJ Mick Brown. Also on hand to analyse the album's wonderful songs and to deconstruct the unique keyboard playing style of Benny Anderson, is gifted session musician Neal McArthur. Featured alongside these unique contributions are magnificent live performances of some of the key tracks on the 'Arrival' album – songs that became ABBA classics to be enjoyed by music lovers of all ages.

DVD4: The Visitors was the eighth and final album by the Swedish pop legends, and in many ways the music reflects the turbulent emotions the band was going through at the time. This DVD critically assesses the album and discusses the musical legacy left by maybe the best pop group to come out of the seventies. Drawing on rare footage of Abba in performance, this powerful and penetrating film features the impartial and forthright views of a leading team of critics and working musicians. In order to ensure editorial freedom the film has not been censored, viewed or approved by past or present management of Abba.
