DOUG SAHM Doug Sahm & Band (2008 issue UK 10-track CD album - Doug Sahm began his solo career in 1972, after the Sir Douglas Quintet finished its contract with Smash/Mercury. Atlantic's Jerry Wexler signed him and gave him a free rein to record his unique blend to Bluesy rock, R&B, Country and Mexican-infused Tejano. There's no question that this is music that is vividly, excitedly alive and captures Sahm at a peak. It's pretty much irresistible.)
