A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

MILFORD GRAVES & DON PULLEN Nommo (Very rare original 1967 US three-part private press vinyl LP on a dark blue & yellow SRP label, the first volume of the 'In Concert at Yale University' recording & one of America's first DIY Free Jazz records, heavyweight pasted picture sleeve. See 'more info' for condition details... LP-290)

Tracklisting: A1 P.G. III 8:30 A2 P.G. IV 7:35 B P.G. V 15:20 Recently subject to a fascinating documentary film, they say Milford Grave's drumkit was homemade & that he rarely ever ventured outside of his NY Queens neighbourhood to perform. Here is a man that believed his instrument - the drums - was capable of far, far more than just timekeeping. Pullen performs a similarly percussive approach to the piano & the results are not for the faint of heart. This is the polar opposite of your cosey Prestige or laidback Blue Note date, Nommo is a rare documentation of Milford Grave's work & is about as raw & unhinged as it gets, a volcanic Freeform firestorm that ended up on Thurston Moore's 'Top Ten Free Jazz Underground ' list for good reason. Dare you take up the challenge of Milford & Don's art? Condition :- Coming from a one owner collection from the UK that was packed with exotic imports & underground LPs of the sixties & seventies, mostly all concerning Freeform music of some kind, this example was bought new at the time & has been kept in exceptionally nice condition ever since. The pasted card picture sleeve grades VG+ with no deletion cuts or writing. There is some scuffing to the edges & one or two of the corners have a faint crease. The panels remain nice & clean. There is the beginnings of paper splitting in the top left corner & a half inch split to the bottom right corner [also signs of one of the top edges starting to weaken causing a small hairline fracture], so often found with American sleeves of this vintage. Nonetheless, a lovely original example. The vinyl is Excellent to Near Mint. There are very few signs of play at all with this record & is therefore highly recommended. But only for the headstrong!
CHARLES BRACKEEN Rhythm X - The Music Of (Archive Quality 1973 US first press 4-track LP on Strata East, one of the most cutting edge & collectable American Jazz labels of the seventies, taking over in terms of vision from the likes of Blue Note&Impulse for its deeper, more soul-searching music & roster of artists. First issues have "A PRODUCT OF STRATA-EAST, INC., N.Y.C. 10014" print just below the label logo, as found here. The album was produced by Clifford Jordan & also stars thegreat Don Cherry, Charlie Haden & Edward Blackwell. The pasted picture sleeve is Near Mint, still in the original open shrink with no deletion cuts. The vinyl is near 'as new' SES-19736)

Tracklisting: A1 Rhythm X 8:03 A2 Hour Glass 11:31 B1 Charles Concept 7:50 B2 C. B. Blues 7:00
SUZANNE VEGA Suzanne Vega (Official 1985 US A&M press pack, comprising of a double sided press release/biography, two different 10" x 8" black & white publicity photographs, housed within a printed A&M envelope)
JETHRO TULL Aqualung (Scarce 1981 US Mobile Fidelity label limited edition half-speed mastered 'Original Master Recording' 11-track audiophile LP, pressed by the Victor Company of Japan on High Definition Super Vinyl, housed in a pasted gatefoldpicture sleeve with the original wrap-around card series inner, questionnaire and Certificate of Limited Warrenty insert. The sleeve displays some fading to the top and spine otherwise displays only light wear and remains excellent, whilst thevinyl looks barely played MFSL1-061)

Tracklisting: Side One: 1. Aqualung 2. Cross-Eyed Mary 3. Cheap Day Return 4. Mother Goose 5. Wond'ring Aloud 6. Up To Me Side Two: 7. My God 8. Hymn 43 9. Slipstream 10. Locomotive Breath 11. Wind-Up
