A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...
 | THE IDLE RACE Time Is (Rare 1971 UK 10-track stereo vinyl LP on
the red/silver Regal Zonophone label. Seldom seen [or heard!] third
long player from the Brummie rockers. After founder member Jeff
Lynne departed the band enlisted Dave Walker [vocals] and Mike
Hopkins [guitar], leaving psychedelia behind to incorporate heavy
doses of prog and folk - defying expectations, it's a great album that
has still never been reissued on vinyl. Housed in a delicate textured
flipback picture sleeveshowing only minor wear, easily achieving an
Excellent grade. The vinyl too grades Excellent with light spindle wear
and faint hairlines only. A top copy and the first we've offered for sale.

 | THE BEATLES Please Please Me (Rare 1963 UK fifth pressing
14-track mono LP on the black & yellow Parlophone label with
'The Parlophone Co' label perimeter text & 'Recording First
Published' credit, but without 'Sold In UK', front laminated
Ernest J. Day flipback picture sleeve PMC1202) ** See
'More Info' for further details on condition ...
Tracklisting: The first three issues were on the black and gold design label and the first yellow/black issue lacked the 'Recording First Published' text & retained the small '33 1/3' after the matrix number of the first two pressings.
The next issue removed the small '33 1/3' from the label but had yet to have 'Recording First Published' added.
This is therefore technically the fifth issue, still from 1963 and still with matrix numbers ending -1.
The labels:
Black and Yellow Parlophone in design with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' perimeter & 'Recording First Published' label text.
As this is an original 1963 pressing there is no 'Sold in the UK' text across the centre of the label.
The silver text is clearly readable with no blemishes or fading & a striking yellow Parlophone logo. There are a few faint spindle marks around the centre hole - one of the few clues that this copy has actually seen a turntable!
The Vinyl:
This has retained its original shine despite being over fifty years old. This is highly unusual as most copies of this album were played excessively at parties during the sixties and many became damaged or badly scratched. This copy has survived with a handful of faint marks to indicate play. An amazing condition 50+ year old vinyl LP that truly belies its age.
The Sleeve:
The Ernest J. Day front laminated flipback picture sleeve has the large block 'mono' logo on the front & benefits from crisp clean laminate & rich colours.
The spine is still clearly readable & undamaged. There is a little wear to the corners of the flipbacks.
The rear of the sleeve has not had the benefit of being protected by laminate, however it remains clean with just light signs of its age other than a few areas of dicolouration to the bottom & edge . An amazing example.
Complete with 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner.
As far as finding a copy of this elusive fifth pressing goes, this is far and away in the top quartile of what you'd ever normally expect to find.
