A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

THE BEATLES Revolver (1966 UK first press 14-track mono LP on the black & yellow Parlophone label, with the label & sleeve both listing 'Dr. Robert' as opposed to later pressings which credit 'Doctor Robert', housed in a Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated flipback picture sleeve. This copy is graded VG PMC7009)
See 'more info' for further details ...

Tracklisting: 01. Taxman 02. Eleanor Rigby 03. I'm Only Sleeping 04. Love You To 05. Here, There And Everywhere 06. Yellow Submarine 07. She Said She Said 08. Good Day Sunshine 09. And Your Bird Can Sing 10. For No One 11. Dr. Robert 12. I Want To Tell You 13. Got To Get You Into My Life 14. Tomorrow Never Knows With - 'The Gramophone Co Ltd' perimeter & 'Sold In The UK' Label Text. Matrices XEX 605-2 & XEX 606-3 Track four, side two is spelt DR. Robert, both on sleeve and on label. The black and yellow Parlophone labels are in respectable condition with some spindle marks evident. The text is bright and clearly legible. There is one small annotation in the black space on the label which a previous owner has tried to remove. The vinyl shows a number of surface scuffs & hairlines but these cannot be felt & giving this copy a VG condition grading. The Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated flipback picture sleeve has some edgewear and creasing to the laminate and age discolouration. By no means mint, this is a fabulous starter copy of this essential mono first pressing & a classic album from start to finish!
THE BEACH BOYS Pet Sounds (Rare 1966 UK first press 13-track mono vinyl LP, on the rainbow rim Capitol label. The label design features the Capitol logo on the left side with 'Sold In U.K.' text above, housed in a front laminated flipback picturesleeve printed & manufactured by Garrod & Lofthouse with 'Patents pending' text T2458)
Please see 'More Info' for further details of this highly desirable pressing ...

Tracklisting: The eleventh studio album by the American group, released on the 16th May 1966, this was initially met with a lukewarm critical and commercial reception in the United States, but received immediate success abroad. Now regarded as one of the most influential pieces in the history of popular music along side The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (released in 1967). Condition The front laminated flipback picture still looks great with the front panel colours popping, after well over fifty years. The unlaminated back panel has some general discolouration, minimal wear to edges/spine, all flipbacks are superb, fully intact and there is no scuffing, chipping or tears. The spine text remains perfectly legible, clear and bold. As for the front panel this is in impressive shape with only a little mild corner wear and a few light creases in the laminate at a few odd spots along the edges but these are sporadic and minimal, overall an Excellent example. The labels reveal some spindle marks by the centre hole to show play, and the vinyl has some light hairlines & the odd faint scuff/occasional superficial scratch, but with no major loss in fidelity & a little faint background surface detectable in the quieter sections, the vinyl grades a nice VG/VG+. This is a classic album that no collection should be without, at a competitive price. Tracklisting Side A 1. Wouldn't It Be Nice 2. You Still Believe In Me 3. That's Not Me 4. Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) 5. I'm Waiting For The Day 6. Let's Go Away For A While 7. Sloop John B Side B 1. God Only Knows 2. I Know There's An Answer 3. Here today 4. I Just Wasn't Made For These Times 5. Pet Sounds 6. Caroline No
NIRVANA (UK) Wings Of Love (Rare 1969 UK single-sided metal based high grade methyl cellulose lacquer acetate cut to 7" with Emidisc label & hand title and artists annotations, as well as the date '17th Jan' on the top, plain die cut sleeve)See 'More Info' for further details ...

Tracklisting: An acetate is a transitional stage between the master tape and the finished vinyl record. Originally acetates were used for home recording in the days before tape recorders, but since the advent of cassette tape & CDR are now no longer used for providing bands & their entourage copies of today's studio efforts. A machine actually cuts the grooves into the acetate like a lathe. The acetate is used to assess whether the music has been successfully transferred to disc. It is checked by the sound engineer. There may be only one copy made of a particular recording, sometimes more are cut and sent to the studio and band members for approval. This comes before making the master, and allows the sound to be checked without great expense. It is unusual for more than a dozen to be manufactured, so from the collector's point of view an acetate is a rare find indeed! If the recording is rejected the acetate may be the only record that survives. The rejected cut may simply be poor quality, however the artist may have opted to use a different take of the song, if so, the acetate becomes much more precious. An incredible find - possibly unique - and certainly one of only a handful. The label is clean with no paper loss or other writing other than the studio annotation. The disc itself shows moderate to heavy scuffing over most of the surface area with a small section of residue to the beginning which causes a little distortion to the start of the track, however playback confirms only light ambient noise in the main part. A far from mint example, however quite possibly one of a mere few left on the planet after fifty years. A nice piece of Sixties psychedelic history.
THE MONKEES Golden Album (1968 Japanese-only 14-track stereo LP, housed in a textured gatefold picture sleeve complete with intergral fold-out colour pin-up poster, an illustrated lyric insert & obi-strip. The packaging shows very little of its age or origin & the vinyl is reveals minimal evidence of play SRA-5103)

Tracklisting: 1. [Theme From] The Monkees 2. Last Train To Clarksville 3. Take A Giant Step 4. [I'm Not Your] Steppin' Stone 5. Saturday's Child 6. She 7. I'm A Believer 8. Words 9. A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You 10. I Wanna Be Free 11. The Girl I Knew Somewhere 12. Let's Dance On 13. Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day 14. Pleasant Valley Sunday
