A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...
 | RUSH Caress Of Steel (Rare original 1975 Japanese 5-track
vinyl LP on the Mercury label manufactured by Nippon
Phonogram, housed in a deluxe gatefold picture sleeve
complete with Japanese text biography/lyric insert and the
rare wide red obi-strip with white text. The sleeve displays
just light general wear with just light corner wear, and the
vinyl remains in a 'near mint' condition with very little
evidence of play. This is a stunning example of this early and
hard-to-find Japanese pressing! RJ-7066)
Tracklisting: An extremely scarce original 1975 Japanese first pressing of Caress Of Steel, the third studio album by Canadian progressive rock legends Rush. Issued by Nippon Phonogram under the Mercury label, this edition is presented in a heavyweight gatefold picture sleeve, featuring stunning cover artwork by Hugh Syme with an antique, fantasy-themed illustration, a hallmark of Rush's early visual identity.
Included is the rare wide red obi-strip, part of the “Rock Company” campaign, which was used by Nippon Phonogram to highlight Western rock releases. This obi is now highly collectible in its own right and often missing from second-hand copies.
Pressed on high-fidelity Japanese vinyl, known among audiophiles for superior mastering and ultra-quiet surfaces, making this edition one of the best ways to experience this often overlooked but musically ambitious Rush album.
Caress Of Steel marked a bold creative leap, featuring long-form suites and fantasy-laced lyrics that laid the foundation for 2112 and future concept-driven works. Although commercially risky at the time, it has since gained cult status among fans for tracks like The Necromancer and the epic The Fountain of Lamneth.
