A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

THE BEATLES Beatles For Sale (Incredibly rare original 1965 Japanese 14-track stereo LP pressed on Wine Red Everclean Vinyl, housed in a gorgeous & unique gatefold sleeve silk laminated across the front with Japanese liner notes, Japanese/lyric insert, Everclean catalogue inner & the legendary first issue green '65' obi strip with '¥1,750' sticker over the printed '¥1,800' price point on both the obi and the sleeve. OP-7179)
Please see 'More Info' for further details on this wonderful album ....

Tracklisting: Tracklisting :- 01. No Reply 02. I'm A Loser 03. Baby's In Black 04. Rock 'n' Roll Music 05. I'll Follow The Sun 06. Mr Moonlight 07. Kansas City 08. Eight Days A Week 09. Words Of Love 10. Honey Don't 11. Every Little Thing 12. I Don't Want To Spoil The Party 13. What You're Doing 14. Everybody's Tryin' To Be My Baby Sleeve Design :- This album was first issued in Japan in February 1965. The sleeve design is similar to the familiar UK one with the exception of the Japanese sleeve notes & the fact that it is NOT an internal pocket design, but the disc is inserted from the outside edge. Obi : - Only a very small number were pressed with this particular rounded design obi. There is an even rarer issue from 1968 with a brown rounded obi, but that is almost mythological with numbers in the handfuls. The obi was replaced with a blue triangular design in 1967, before the more familiar, but still rare green 'point' obi in Summer 1968. There have been attempts to reprint this obi, but all counterfeits are much more obviously modern & tend to have a smooth 'glossy' feel. This obi is, without doubt, the real deal. Condition :- Sleeve The sleeve itself is in staggering condition, despite being printed on fairly thin stock. There are just the lightest few scuffs when held to the light caused by vinyl shift over the years but otherwise there are no creases, edge marks or other significant flaws. To be honest, you'd probably not have got much better had you purchased it in 1965! Inside, you will find the familiar pictures as used on the UK sleeve, with the exception that the album notes are in Japanese & the English translation of the tracklisting is below. Apart from some age yellowing at the edges, all details are clear & readable. Both the insert and advert inner has some light foxing, but no rips, splits and little signs of age. Obi Being far rarer than the album itself, this obi is in fantastic condition with very little sign of being sixty years old. The green is clear & bright with no evidence of light fading. Easily as good as it gets. As mentioned this has the '¥1,750' price sticker over the original price point. Vinyl Using the Japanese 'Everclean' red vinyl formula, this disc has obviously been played, but also has obviously been looked after extremely well. There are some spindle marks to the centre of the label, but the label print is still clear & bright, with no sign of wear. The vinyl is extremely clean with minimal signs of play, with just the lightest hairline paper scuffs visible upon very close inspection, probably caused by removal & replacement in the original envelope style paper inner. This original catalogue envelope inner is still present, making this copy not only an original, but a COMPLETE original. This is our first complete copy of this variant we have ever seen. A spectacular copy that you would be unlikely to ever better!
FRANK ZAPPA Zappa In New York (Very Rare 1977 UK first issue 11-track live double vinyl LP including Punky's Whips. Complete with lyrics printed across the inside of the gatefold picture sleeve. This version was very quickly withdrawn from sale. This is a wonderful copy)
See 'More Info' ...

Tracklisting: This was initially released in its full uncensored glory in late 1977, with the track "Punky's Whips" included on the sleeve credits, the label & the vinyl. This issue was withdrawn by Warner Brothers, who considered its homoerotic reference to Angel guitarist Punky Meadows in "Punky's Whips" & "Titties And Beer" to be potentially litigious. In March 1978 the album was officially re-released in censored form, with "Punky's Whips" deleted from the vinyl although the remainder of the original sleeves were used, so for a time you could still read the lyrics inside, even though you could not hear the track any more ! This is that rare original issue from late 1977 that is completely uncensored and still has the track "Punky's Whips" as Frank intended. Unlike the later CD release, it is also not saturated with digital reverb either, so kicks like a mule. Condition: The sleeve remains in wonderful condition with just a little light edge scuffing and the lightest amount of shelfwear and ringwear visible. The vinyl is at least Excellent with minimal signs of play. A spectacular copy of this incredibly rare Zappa release. Tracklisting: Titties & Beer 6:28 I Promise Not To Come In Your Mouth 3:33 Punky's Whips 10:59 Sofa 3:00 Manx Needs Women 1:56 The Black Page Drum Solo / Black Page #1 4:07 Big Leg Emma 2:17 The Black Page Drum Solo / Black Page #2 5:43 Honey, Don't You Want A Man Like Me? 4:17 The Illinois Enema Bandit 12:47 The Purple Lagoon 18:00
SUPERTRAMP Breakfast In America (1979 Japanese 10-track vinyl LP with picture labels, complete with Japanese lyric insert, fold-out English lyric insert, picture sleeve & obi-strip. Aside from a small 'dink' to the bottom right corner, this copyis Near Mint AMP-6034)
