Tracklisting: Seven years have passed since Snow Patrol's last album 'Fallen Empires'. In that time the band have all ventured off into a variety of projects. Gary Lightbody continued his work with his Tired Pony side project with members of Belle and Sebastian, R.E.M, Reindeer Section and Fresh Young Fellows and moved to Los Angeles to begin writing songs for movies and doing a number of high-profile co-writes with Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Biffy Clyro and One Direction. Taking this extended break from Snow Patrol proved to be a source of inspiration, and writing songs that were not pulled directly from his own psyche helped heal what Lightbody considered to be not so much writer’s block as life block.In the meantime the band have been working on Wildness, Snow Patrol's 7th studio album.
The album finds the band searching for clarity, connection, and meaning, while staying true to the melodic songwriting prowess that brought them to prominence. Wildness taps into something raw and primitive, and lead-singer and songwriter Gary Lightbody says of the album: “There are many types of wildness, but I think it can be distilled into two: the wildness of the modern age, all it’s confusion, illogic and alienation and a more ancient wildness. Tracklisting: The vinyl is pristine & has retained its natural shine, just one very minor scuff and a few whispy/faint hairlines visible under strong light, the labels show some spindle wear but nothing excessive with the label text/colours clear and bright and no wear around spindle hole.
The vinyl is graded Near Mint - a fantastic copy.
The all important matrices are YEX168-1 & YEX169-1, indicating a first pressing.
Complete with 'Use Emitex' poly lined inner sleeve.
The sleeve was manufactured by Garrod & Lofthouse with 'Patents Pending' and 6509 credit. EJ Day did not produce any sleeves for Help. The rear of the sleeve is still wonderfully WHITE with the barest minimum evidence of storage/age, the flip backs on the reverse intact with all text legible, no writing or stains, and no rubbing to the pinched spine. Clearly, along with the vinyl, fastidiously well kept from new.
The front of the sleeve benefits from clean crisp laminate, only the mildest signs of storage/age with the odd tiny crease or light mark, kept to a minium. The edges are all sharp and clear with the lower back flipback displaying the 'Patents Pending' text and coded date 6509 confirming that this was the first stereo issue.
A superb copy!
