| JIMI HENDRIX Axis: Bold As Love (Rare 1967 UK first issue
13-track MONO vinyl LP, complete with the all important and
incredibly rare fold out lyric / poster insert, front laminated
internal flipback gatefold picture sleeve) See 'More Info'for further details and condition on this superb rarity... #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: Information
Both mono and stereo mixes of Jimi's first two albums were made by Jimi, Chas Chandler, and Eddie Kramer at Olympic Studios in 1967. Final stereo mixing for the album was done on October 31st and November 1st, 1967. Chandler and Kramer completed a mono mix of the album on November 2nd, 1967.
There are noticeable differences between the two mixes that make this MONO version extremely special to collectors:
EXP is shorter without the extended feedback at the end and the vocals are louder.
Castles Made Of Sand features a different vocal performance.
One Rainy Wish has a slightly different ending.
There are other subtle differences too across the entire album as a result of the separate mixing to mono as opposed to merely combining the stereo tracks.
Condition
The Ernest J. Day sleeve has secure internal flipbacks and tight laminate. There is some minor wear to the edges & corners with a small chip to the bottom of the opening edge, otherwise really nice with the colours remaining rich, bright & vivid.
The lyric insert is tough to find & hardly ever shows up. This example has no fading visible or any rips or writing and just light creasing from handling.
The labels are the smooth finish variety & black with silver print/lettering. There is no writing or tears to the print & just some spindle marks around the centre hole to indicate a little past action [who DIDN'T play this Hendrix classic way back when?].
There are a number of visible paper scuffs/hairlines and a few minor cosmetic marks/occasional light scratch or axial, causing minimal pop or clicks, a little ambient background noise between tracks & in some passages. Thankfully, this is only minor, and the playback quality remains exceptional, largely due to the quality of sixties heavyweight vinyl, which cannot be beaten.
This is an increasingly difficult to find, complete UK mono original. While not mint, market interest for it is ever increasing and we are proud to bring this respectable Very Good condition original to the market. It's been a while!

| QUEEN Somebody To Love (1976 South African solid centre 7"
vinyl single with the crest label design pressed by EMI-Brigadiers
Music, also including White Man, housed in a caricature drawing
wrap-around picture sleeve. The sleeve displays some light
general age wear. The vinyl has some light surface marks from a
reaction with the plastic sleeve it had been stored in for many
years, this is mostly cosmetic with very little lessening in sound
quality. A nice item for any collection and the first we have ever
seen! EMIJ4132)
