| MILES DAVIS Sorcerer (Original Master Recording
limited edition Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab 7-track 2-LP,
mastered by Krieg Wunderlich on the Gain 2 Ultra Analog
System, specially plated and pressed on 180-gram
High-Definition Vinyl at 45RPM. The 1967 magnum
opus mesmerizes with instrumental colours, subdued
musings, and subtle details. Miles' legendary second quintet
stars Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony
Williams. Heavyweight gatefold picture sleevewith original
album art, individually gold-foil numbered and still
sealed inside its perforated loose bag)
Tracklisting: MOOD, INFLECTION, AND NUANCE TAKE CENTER STAGE ON COMPOSITIONS STEEPED IN SOPHISTICATED EXPRESSIONISM
Filled with aural magic and enchanting musical spells, Sorcerer is true to its name. The third of five albums devised by Miles Davis' legendary second quintet – and the second record in a still-unprecedented string of eight consecutive releases within a four-year period that forever changed the face of jazz – the 1967 magnum opus mesmerizes with instrumental colors, subdued musings, and subtle details.

2. Pee Wee
Side 2

2. The Sorcerer
Side 3

Side 4

2. Nothing Like You
This is a reference-standard reissue. You'll hear poetic lyricism pouring out of Wayne Shorter's horn, the breadth and definition of the notes spreading across an enormous soundstage. Never before have drummer Tony Williams' rim shots ricocheted with such purpose or his light percussive work mirrored that of a feather touching skin. Similarly, Herbie Hancock's piano runs now occupy their own space, where their relationship to the central rhythms and front line becomes clearer.
Prizing inflection and nuance more so than heady solos or uptempo flights, Sorcerer mesmerizes with cerebral properties and cascades of emotional interplay. Such beauty emerges in the mellow ballad "Pee Wee," an indelible statement of restrained authority and sophisticated expression. The swirling title track unfolds as jazz shadowplay, Hancock, Shorter, and Williams mirroring one another's moves with guile and purpose. The opening "Prince of Darkness" showcases the ensemble's reach and communication, every musician going in seemingly different directions yet ending up on the same page.
A lasting example of Davis' visionary insight, Sorcerer is comprised entirely of pieces written by his band mates. Indeed, save for the closing "Nothing Like You" – a brief tribute to Davis' eventual wife, who also graces the cover, recorded in 1962 and adorned with vocals from Bob Dorough – the album represents a further maturation and refinement of a quintet that stands as one of the finest in jazz history. |
| KATE BUSH Hounds Of Love (Exclusive Indie Edition
2023 UK/EU 12-track LP pressed on 180-gram Raspberry Beret Mixed Coloured
Vinyl. Pressed at Record Industry Netherlands
using lacquers cut from 2018remasters by Bernie Grundman.
Picture sleeve with original cover artwork and an exclusive
Kate Bush-designed obi showing the pressing date 13 MARCH
2024. Recommended) #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: Kate Bush and Fish People Records are proud and excited to announce new 2023 pressings of all 10 of Kate Bush's albums.
"It's very exciting to see people appreciating the physical presence of an album released on vinyl. It's how it's always been for me, especially when I was a teenager. The whole buzz of the record store was part of the experience. Buying an album was an event." — Kate Bush
The records are all pressed on 180-gram vinyl at the world-renowned Record Industry plant in the Netherlands. New lacquers were cut from the 2018 remasters by Bernie Grundman and overseen by mastering engineer James Guthrie.
All designed by Kate and feature new Fish People label designs. They are protected in resealable poly-bag liners with a 'Fish People Reissue' obi.
Hounds of Love was Kate's fifth studio album, and her second No. 1. It has since been certified double platinum in the U.K. by the British Phonographic Industry.
"In some respects, this was also Bush's first fully realized album, done completely on her own terms, made entirely at her own 48-track home studio, to her schedule and preferences, and delivered whole to EMI as a finished work; that history is important, helping to explain the sheer presence of the album's most striking element — the spirit of experimentation at every turn, in the little details of the sound. That vastly divergent grasp, from the minutiae of each song to the broad sweeping arc of the two suites, all heavily ornamented with layered instrumentation, makes this record wonderfully overpowering as a piece of pop music. Indeed, this reviewer hadn't had so much fun and such a challenge listening to a new album from the U.K. since Abbey Road, and it's pretty plain that Bush listened to (and learned from) a lot of the Beatles' output in her youth." — 4.5/5 Stars, AllMusic
