 | DON RENDELL & THE NEW JAZZ QUINTET Roarin' (Monster Rare
British Jazz 1961 UK white label test pressing for the first press
7-track mono vinyl LP with plain white labels and stamped 'Sample Not
For Sale' on B-Side. Recorded in London on 17th June& 29th August
1961 with Graham Bond [alto sax], John Burch [piano], Tony Archer
[bass] & Phil Kinorra [drums]. The vinyl comes issued within a front
laminated flipback picture sleeve with the catalogue number printed on
the back along with arecord shop sticker. Please see more
information for futher details on condition JLP51)
Tracklisting: The front laminated flipback sleeve displays just a little light wear with just the odd small crease in the laminate, there is a small bit of tape on the top edge which looks to be reinforcing or repairing a small split but is hardly noticeable. The non-laminated back is also surprisingly really clean with only light storage wear & signs of age. The 'Baker's Record Shop' sticker is attached to the bottom flipback. Overall a really nice & clean example.
The matrix details are as follows
JLP 51 A-IL
JLP 51 B-IL
This was obviously a test pressing which was then used to promote the album, hence being stamped with 'Sample Not For Sale' with space for the catalogue number to be added but never was added.
The vinyl remains excellent, it displays only a few signs of light play with only a couple of light hairlines & scuffs, all being cosmetic.
A fantastic example of this rare pressing, the first we have ever seen, a must for any collection
Tracklisting
Side A
1. Bring Back The Burch
2. Manumission
3. Blue Monk
Side B
1. Jeannine
2. You Loomed Out Of Loch Ness
3. So What
4. The Haunt |
 | T-REX June 1972 (Rare UK 12-page concert programme for
the four dates on the UK tour from the 9-24th June, where
they performed in Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester and
Newcastle, with support from Quiver. Featuring great
photographs of the band along with lyrics and poems, with an
advert on the reverse for Metal Guru and 'New Album Soon'
text. Printed in black & white with red print highlights
including the cover. For something made from paper and
being almost fifty years old, thishas survived the ravages of
time very well. The cover displays only light wear, with all
pages intact. A stunning example and only the second we
have ever seen) |
