 | LED ZEPPELIN Led Zeppelin (Extremely rare 1969 UK 9-track
first issue stereo LP with 'Superhype' publishing credit on the
labels, legendary fully laminated sleeve with turquoise
lettering. The matrix numbers are not scratched out,
indicating that this is the first batch press. This one owner

condition details ...
Tracklisting: Released on 31st March 1969, this was the world debut of Led Zeppelin.
The very first UK issue had this Turquoise lettered sleeve. The rear picture is a degree more brown tinted than the later orange copies.
There is a noticeable grey bar at the bottom of the front image which characterised the Polydor pressings and was removed when they changed to Warner distribution.
The reverse of the sleeve has the 'Uptight An' Outasight' credit that was replaced with a Warner credit after the Polydor issues.
The labels have 'Superhype' and 'Jewel Music' credits under the tracklisting & the label design is the familiar plum & red design with black fan to the right, 'Made in Gt. Britain' at the top & 'Polydor Records Limited' at the bottom.
More details on Condition:
Sleeve
The sleeve remains in very nice condition with some laminate creases/rippling evident mainly on the front panel towards the opening edge area and spine. The sleeve otherwise very little wear and borders on an Excellent grade. The front image is still very white and could easily be displayed. A great example of a very sought after sleeve.
Vinyl
The matrix numbers are 588171 A//1 & 588171 B//1 and are not scratched out as in later issues.
The labels have some noticeable spindle wear on both sides.
Condition: Vinyl
Side One: There are some light hairlines plus some axial wear and a small mark on the outer edge of the run-in groove which has no impact on play. Overall graded Very Good.
Side Two: There are some noticeable scuffs/marks across sections of the first half - these do not affect play. There are also some light hairlines visible in places. We have graded this side G+ due to these markings.
However, the record has been professionally cleaned on both sides and on playback there is only very minor background noise in places and overall plays through without any major deterioration in sound quality, thanks to the superior quality of this pre-oil crisis pressing.
All in all a very acceptable copy at a competitive price.
