JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins (Rare original UK 1968 first press stereo vinyl LP issued on an Apple label with both an Apple catalogue number and a Track Records catalogue number & logo on the label, fully laminated controversial nude picture sleeve. Due to its bad sales and shocking cover this album did not sell well, so finding a first UK issue is very difficult & very hard indeed to find one in such good condition as this!)
See 'More Info' for further details on this stunning rarity..

Tracklisting: John and Yoko’s first album venture was into the realms of the avant-garde with this mysterious home made album of sound effects, tape loops, free-form vocals and snatches of slowed down or speeded up music. It was recorded in May 1968 (probably the 19th/20th) between midnight and dawn, when John had invited Yoko to his home in Weybridge. John had been experimenting with various recordings of his own for some time in his attic music room, Yoko was naturally interested in his way-out sound collages and so they decided to record something together. Their distant 18-month relationship was finally consummated after John audibly declared at the end of the tape “I’ve had enough now”. The naked cover photographs for the album were later taken in the basement of Ringo's flat in Montague Square, London, with John using a delayed action shutter release as he was too embarrassed to allow a professional to take the nude pictures. It took six months for John to persuade the other band members to allow him to release the album. When released it did not enter the UK chart selling a mere 5000 copies in total before being deleted by EMI ! Condition The Apple labels are in stunning condition with 'Sold In The UK Subject to...' label text. The Track Records logo is on the right hand side of the label with the catalogue number 613012 below it, the SAPCOR2 number is smaller below the Track number. The matrix numbers are machine stamped, they are as follows Side One : SAPCOR 2A-1 Side Two : SAPCOR 2B-1 The vinyl remains in superb condition, with barely any noticeable signs of play - not bad for a 43 year old! The fully laminated picture sleeve was very shocking in 1968 as it showed the couple naked on the front of the sleeve. Many shops refused to stock it and in the US it was issued with a brown paper bag to hide the nudity. With 'Made In Merrie England' text on the back. The sleeve, being predominantly white, is prone to discolouration. The discolouration to this sleeve is minimal although it is vaguely apparent along the spine and opening edge on the front of the sleeve. There is slight laminate lift/creasing on one section on the right hand side of the back of sleeve, with minor ring marking, a natural consequence of age, but even with these minor flaws we can confirm that this is the best copy of this rarity we've ever seen and you would be unlikely to find a better copy! JOY DIVISION / ANTON CORBIJN In Control (Rare sealed 2008 UK first edition 136-page hardback book. The Ian Curtis Film biopic is an Anton Corbijn project and, in some way, the culmination of the multi-talented artist's work, the lead singer ofthe legendary post-punk rock band Joy Division, a book about the making of the film. The film details the troubled life of Ian Curtis, vocalist, lyricist and guitarist of the band Joy Division. His songs filled with emotional pain, violence, andalienation, his eerie baritone voice, and his unique dancing style reminiscent of the epileptic seizures he experienced made him a hero of the post-punk era; his suicide at the age of 23 on the eve of Joy Division's first US tour confirmed the myth of the rock star dying young. The book is a visual diary, with hand-written notations, drawings, and a wealth of photographs. It details the creative process from pre-production through filming to post-production and first screenings. Complete with the dust cover and remains sealed!)
