Nothing short of folk history here as legendary Library of Congress sound recordist [and Shirley's partner at the time] Alan Lomax captures these startling and intimate performances at Peter Kennedy's house in London, in 1958 in a two-day session. Her choice of repertoire and arrangements aresaid to capture a turning moment in the English folk song revival of the 1950s, includes accompaniment from John Hastead, Ralph Rinzler and Guy Carawan.
