classic 1969 9-track stereo LP, housed in a light brown
gatefold picture sleeve, complete with lyric insert, obi-strip &
rare fold-out poster. The packaging displays minimal wear
with anintact obi and the poster has been stored folded in the
sleeve and never displayed. The labels have only a couple of
light spindle marks, and apart from one small pressing mark
the vinyl remains in a 'near mint' condition, one the best

Tracklisting: Condition:
The Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated flipback picture sleeve retains a glorious clean laminate & with few signs of its fifty years. The panels are clean & off white with a few light spots of foxing and light laminate creasing. The flipbacks are secure & the sleeve is complete with the original Emitex inner. There is a glimpse of ringwear to the front, with a little scuffing evident at the corners. Overall a really nice Ex+ to Near Mint example for the sleeve and vinyl.
The labels are black and yellow Parlophone with 'Sold In The UK', 'Recording First Published' and 'The Parlophone Co' text.
The matrix numbers in the run-outs are:
Side 1 XEX 481-3N
Side 2 XEX 482-3N
The labels are clean with no sign of splindle wear.
The vinyl remains near 'as new' with a deep sheen both sides with just a couple of faint scuffs most likely from removing the record from the inner. This copy has obviously been looked after very carefully indeed.

Vietnam War, Gabriel created a moving soundtrack that
reflected what he saw as the film's themes. This box set

When Peter Gabriel saw a rough cut of Birdy, he was compelled to record the soundtrack. “I knew I had to do it. It haunted me,” he said of the 1984 movie, based on William Wharton’s 1978 novel of the same name and directed by Alan Parker (Pink Floyd: The Wall, The Commitments, Midnight Express).
Connecting deeply with the tale of two friends, Birdy (Matthew Mondine) and Alfonso “Al” Columbato (Nicolas Cage), and the traumas experienced as soldiers in the Vietnam War, Gabriel created a moving soundtrack that reflected what he saw as the film’s themes: “The struggle of the spirit… the interplay between the traumatised Birdy, the wounded victim, and his best friend.”
Featuring evocative cues such as Dressing The Wound and Birdy’s Flight, the resulting 12-track soundtrack album was Hailed by Trouser Press as “a major challenge met admirably with style and character”, with Uncut noting that it “would lay the groundwork for So”.
