PAUL TORTELIER Shostakovich: Cello Concerto No.1 (1973 UK HMV black and white stamp label stereo vinyl LP, performed by Paul Tortelier with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Paavo Berglund. At first glance this disc appears somewhat unassuming, but this TAS listed recording is widely held to be best recording yet made of the Shostakovich's 1st cello concerto and is a must have performance for serious audiophile classical fans. The sleeve does show mild discolourationmainly to the back whilst the vinyl looks barely played ASD2924)
THE BEATLES With The Beatles (Rare 1963 UK first issue 14-track mono LP with 'The Parlophone Co' perimeter text & 'Recording first Published' but without 'Sold In The UK' on the label, with "Use Emitex" inner. The disc also lists the 'Jobete'credit for Money and the 'Gotta' misprint. This example is within the rare Ernest J. Day front laminated flipback picture sleeve with the 'Gotta' misprint on the back, confirming a first pressing PMC1206)

Tracklisting: More Details Labels are black/yellow Parlophone design, they have some spindle wear to show it has been played, but has clear bright silver text. With "The Parlophone Co Ltd." text around the perimeter With "Recording First Published 1963" Without "Sold in the UK subject to.." Lists the 'Jobete' credit for Money and the 'Gotta' misprint for Really Got A Hold On Me. "use Emitex" poly lined inner. The sleeve is printed by Ernest J. Day, front laminated with flipbacks, printed with the 'Gotta' misprint on the back. Matrices: XEX447-1N XEX448-1N Condition The sleeve displays some minor corner wear & a little wear to the opening edge, there are a few light creases to the laminate, the non-laminated back is a nice off-white colour with just minor age yellowing. There is also a small area of sticker residue to the back, nothing excessive. All flipbacks are secure and the spine is clearly legible. The labels both have a few marks around the spindle hole to show it has been played, however the vinyl remains very clean with little evidence of excessive handling or play. There are just a few light marks visible and are only cosmetic. A great condition FIRST PRESSING, and only the second of this varient we have ever seen, with very little need to upgrade.
