VICTOR FELDMAN WITH TUBBY HAYES, DIZZY REECE & JIMMY
DEUCHAR Transatlantic Alliance (One-Off 1958 UK One-Sided
Test Pressing for Side B only [3 tracks] of the
impossibly rare mono LP on Tempo Records, part of Tempo's
sought after ModernJazz Series. Contains the tracks 'Wail',
'Ballad Medley - Together, Darn That Dream, I Surrender Dear,
I've Lost Your Love' & 'Wailing Wall' recorded in London,
England on January 3, 1957 with Tubby Hayes [baritone sax],
Ronnie Scott [tenor sax], Dizzy Reece [trumpet], Victor Feldman
[piano], Lennie Bush [bass] & Tony Crombie [drums] for the
Ballad Medley, & with Jimmy Deuchar [trumpet], Victor Feldman
[vibes], Terry Shannon [piano], Kenny Napper [bass] & Phil
Seamen [drums] on the two other tracks. Although Side A is lost
to the mists of time, this is still a worthy find for the British Jazz
historian & collector. The factory label is custom printed with
'Not For Sale' text & there are annotations - The
'VMGT-1257-1B' matrix number is stamped in the run-out of the
vinyl. Best heard on its intended mono playback setting, the
heavyweight vinyl has been professionally cleaned & grades VG-
at best with several paper scuffs & the occasional small scratch.
Playback reveals great sound quality, a well made Decca pressing
no less, with light background surface to be expected & a few
clicks & light pops with no jumps or sticks. A unique discovery
