Each opera is in its own separate wooden ended partition with fullsize libretto booklets containing synopsis & full transcription for the operas. This performance is THE classic version by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Georg Solti, a powerful orchestral drama, phenomenal performance & superb sound. The whole ensemble is enclosed in a very weighty carved wooden box with gilded front panel. The box & wooden/leather spines show negligible edge wear over the past forty odd years & the librettos are complete, clean & undamaged. The box show scuffing to the bottom edge with a split at the bottom right corner of the lid, there is also a discreet catalogue annotation to the reverse, otherwise few other signs of wear, leaving the front art clean & sharp; the booklet has a little foxing to the cover with no creases or tears.
