MR FOX The Gypsy (Rare 1971 UK 7-track LP, a British acid folk staple produced by Bill Leader, superb psychedelic gatefold sleeve with one of those appalling hard plastic inners with the bit of foam rubber at the opening [you know the ones]. Avery bad idea that very quickly vanished into history, but normally not before the damage was done and the foam rubber disintegrated into the first track on either side, turning them into a crackle-fest. Very, very occasionally, the Goddess smiles and a miracle happens. This is one such miracle. Not only does the sleeve show minimal shelfwear or edge scuffing, but the plastic inner is intact & unsplit, the foam rubber still recognisable as foam rubber & even the grim super tape that held the plastic to the sleeve is still in place. Not only that, the vinyl shows no traces of the foam rubber curse that afflicted most of its buddies, & appears near 'as new'. Compared to the more usual condition, this is a miracle indeed. MR FOX The Gypsy (Rare 1971 UK 7-track LP, a British acid folk staple produced by Bill Leader, housed in a superb psychedelic gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve otherwise shows just a little ring wear & corner creasing. As is usually the waywith this title, the foam along the edge of the plastic inner has left a residue mark to the opening edge of the vinyl & a little way into the first track on side one & resulting in some hissing on rotation when played. Otherwise the disc is a nice VG+ example with just a few hairline marks for its age TRA236) more...
