LENNIE TRISTANO/ BUDDY DE FRANCO Crosscurrents (1972
US 13-track LP, Volume 14 in the Capitol Jazz series. All
recordings are legendary and date from 1949 with Tristano's
Sextet, starring Lee Konitz, coupled with a recording by Buddy
DeFranco's Sextet and Orchestra, featuring Earl Swope, Al
Cohn, Serge Chaloff, Oscar Pettiford & Max Roach. Particularly
historical, as Intuition and Digression have gone down in
history as the very first completely 'freeform' recordings in
jazz. The pasted picture sleeve has a red 'SM' sticker on the
front and shows a little wear & discolouring along the spine,
however, the vinyl looks barely played and is in Excellent
condition M-11060)
