JOHN LENNON Imagine (1988 US 10-track CD issue of the classic 1971 album produced by John, Yoko & Phil Spector. This copy remains factory sealed in the US only 12" by 6" Longbox format packaging that was eventually phased out on April 1st 1993. They were originally produced as a transitional measure to make sure that two CDs could fill the same 12" bins in store as the vinyl LPs that they were expected to replace. The Longbox normally contained, as in this case, enlarged album artworkwith details on the reverse but they ended up carrying all sorts of messages from adverts to petitions)

JOHN LENNON Imagine (Thought this was only released in Stereo? Think again! This rare 1971 Brazilian 10-track vinyl LP is indeed in glorious Mono, on the Apple label, with a unique picture sleeve, complete with die-cut printed lyric inner, fold-out poster & postcard. Originally this would have had a built in protective plastic outer sleeve, sadly with time these degraded and is no longer present, however the paper inserts remains in fantastic condition and has the 'Monaural' mettalic gold corner sticker still attached. The inner has some signs of age wear with a couple of splits, the postcard has some signs of age along with the poster but has never been displayed. The Side 1 label has a couple of sposts of paper loss, and the vinyl remains Excellent with just a few light cosmetic surface scuffs. A really nice example of this hard-to-find variant and the first we have ever seen BTL-1016)

This album was pressed under contract by Pathé Marconi in France, after demand for the record, & the labels state both 'Mfd In UK' & 'Made In France'. The sleeve shows a little chipping to the laminate at the bottom but is otherwise a great example. The sleeve shows minimal wear, the poster has a few pin holes from being displayed but still remans excellent, both the inner sleeve and postcard have a small amount of foxing & the vinyl has only a couple of light cosmetic surface marks. A nice VG+/EX- copy of this rare contract press, now very tough to find complete PAS10004)

The sleeve displays some light wear mostly to the edges & corners, with a few light spots of foxing, the obi, poster and postcard all remain in a really nice condition again with just a few spots of foxing.
