BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB A Different Kind Of Fix (2012 Japanese
12-track CD album - A Different Kind of Fix is the third album from
London's Bombay Bicycle Club, following the critically acclaimed indie
of debut I Had the Blues But I Shook them Loose and the Ivor
Novello-nominated sparse folk of Flaws. Recorded in Hamburg, London
and Atlanta, A Different Kind of Fix sees the guitars firmly plugged
back in for album number three, but added to the mix are synths,
sampled loops, layered vocals from all four band members and
washes of reverb throughout. Production-wise, the album reunites
BBC with Jim Abbiss--who produced their debut--and also introduces
them to Ben Allen [noted for his work with Animal Collective] whilst
lead singer, Jack Steadman co-produces throughout. Includes first
single, "Shuffle", "How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep" and "Take
The Right One", also set to include Bonus Track[s] for the
Japanese pressing. Picture sleeve with Japanese liner notes and
obi-strip, more details to follow...)

BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose
(2009 Japanese 16-track enhanced CD album - from the dizzying
MBV/M83 swoops and morning-after ruefulness of the LP's opening
song to the open-tuned, Appalachian folk feel of the record'sclosing
track, the album thrums with subtle invention and quiet emotional
intensity. Fans of Bloc Party, Broken Social Scene and Bon Iver will be
utterly beguiled: indie rock rarely gets to enjoy its innocence these
days, but BBC know that'sexactly what makes it precious. Includes
the singles 'Always Like This' and 'Dust On The Ground', plus 3
bonus recordings and a CD-Rom video for 'Always Like This';
picture sleeve + obi strip)

BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB Flaws (2010 UK Deluxe Edition 2-disc
[CD/DVD] album set - Having finished recording their debut LP in
February 2009, the band went straight back into the studio [The
Church, Crouch End] days after they submitted the master for 'I Had
The Blues', and started the initial recordings for this album. 'Flaws' is
characterised by a delicate, heart-swelling beauty and lightness of
touch throughout. Those that had BBC pegged merely as an indie
band may need to re-think. Comprises the 11-track CD album
featuring the singles 'Ivy & Gold' & 'Flaws'; plus a Bonus
DVD including 11 beautiful live videos. The band performed each
of the album tracks over a few short filming days. No tweaks, edits or
post production, the videos were taken in one shot, in keeping with
the delicate and honest delivery of the album. Each of the acoustic
videos were filmed in locations that have meaning to the band, giving
a real insight into how the album was recorded: the majority of both
were penned and recorded in lead singer Jack Steadman's own
bedroom)

BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose
(2009 UK 12-track CD album - 'I Had The Blues But I Shook Them
Loose' is a beautifully literate and ambitious debut. From the dizzying
MBV/M83 swoops and morning-after ruefulness of the LP's opening
song to the open-tuned, Appalachian folk feel of the record's closing
track, the album thrums with subtle invention and quiet emotional
intensity. Fans of Bloc Party, Broken Social Scene and Bon Iver – or
any mildly sensitive soulwith a fondness for ricocheting guitar chords –
will be utterly beguiled. Indie rock rarely gets to enjoy its innocence
these days, but Bombay Bicycle Club know that's exactly what makes
it precious. Includes the singles 'Always Like This' and 'Dust On The
Ground')
