BILL EVANS Portrait In Jazz (Rare 1959 first US issue 9-track deep
groove mono LP on a dark blue & silver 'reel to reel' Riverside label,
recorded and released early on in Evans' career during a key year in
jazz, Portrait is sublime from beginning to end and features the
intimate trio of Evans on piano, Scott LaFaro bass & Paul Motian
drums. Pressed over fifty years ago, the pasted sleeve has some
discolouring, wearing to the spine and a few edge splits. By no means
mint, the sleeve does have its three closed sides neatly tape
reinforced keeping things nice and presentable. The heavyweight vinyl
has been professionally cleaned and plays through a treat, with just a
few light surface scuffs to show for its age. A very respectable
VG/VG+ example RLP12-315)
