THE BENNY GOLSON QUINTET Gettin' With It (Monster Rare
1960 UK first press 5-track mono LP, pressed by Esquire on
heavyweight vinyl to a high standard with 'RVG' [Rudy Van
Gelder] stamped in the run-out groove & a 'flat edge' before the
run-ins. This fantastic Hard Bop date is one of Benny's best
recordings & should be regarded as a classic of its kind, with
strong backing from Curtis Fuller [trombone], Tommy Flanagan
[piano], Doug Watkins [bass] & Arthur Taylor [drums] all
castingtheir spell on the listener. Comes housed in the original
front laminated flipback picture sleeve with a unique orange tint.
This is a lovely one previous owner example & a rare pressing we
have only ever seen once before. The sleeve remains in Excellent
condition with no tears or writing. There is some mild ring wear
creases which should be forgiven with age & otherwise just faint
ageing. The heavyweight vinyl remains in Near Mint condition &
shows very few signs of play. Recommended)

UK original 5-track mono LP on Esquire, recorded on August the
28th, 1959, with Curtis Fuller [trombone], Ray Bryant [piano],
Paul Chambers [bass] & Art Blakey [drums]; cracking line-up

chipping/indentation to a one inch portion along the top and
more general edgewear to the bottom, otherwise just a littleage
related discolouration to the reverse, the super-heavyweight
vinyl is a different story showing very light signs of play only -
with mint copies regularly fetching £125+ now's your chance to
