DAVID MATTHEWS Dune (1977 US 8-track LP, based on the Hugo award-winning novel, Dune, by Frank Herbert featuring Hiram Bullock, Eric Gale, David Sanborn, Grover Washington Jr & Cliff Carter along with Googie Coppola from Air providing vocals on a version of David Bowie's Space Oddity. This was deleted from the CTI catalogue & was unvailable for many years due to the record company not securing Herbert’s authorization to use his novel as the central theme for the album; Herbert filed a law suit & won causing it to be withdrawn. The picture sleeve is still in the open shrinkwrap which has the clear hype sticker attached, paradoxically, reading 'Contains the hit theme from Star Wars'. The shop/import stickers are also attached & the vinyl is Excellent with very little play CTI75005)
