GENESIS Selling England By The Pound (Rare circa 1973 UK promotional press kit, comprises a copy of the 8-track vinyl LP with large pink 'Mad Hatter' Charisma label and 'B & C Records Ltd' perimeter text, within a Dutch printed picture sleeve with the card lyric insert. Arguably the band's finest hour, featuring I Know What I Like, Firth Of Fifth and the epics The Battle Of Epping Forest and The Cinema Show. This also includes a rare 24-page A4 sized press booklet featuring an earlybiography, band member profiles and press cuttings all from 1973 and an advert for the album & singles. Vinyl LP:

Selling England By The Pound - 1973 Dutch first issue 8-track stereo vinyl LP with large pink 'Mad Hatter' Charisma label and 'B & C Records Ltd' perimeter text, made in England although has no mention of place of manufacture. The picture sleeve has the 'Printed by Bruin B.V.' credit on the reverse and comes with the original brown card lyric insert.

The sleeve displays some minor general wear and has a small sticker mark on the front, whilst the vinyl remains excellent with just a few signs of play.

Press Booklet:

The rare 24-page A4 sized press booklet was compiled by Chris Briggs, featuring an early biography from 1966-1970 and another from 1972, individual band member profiles and press cuttings from differnt music publiation all from 1973. The back has an advert for the album & single releases. All printed/copied onto different coloured paper and each with the Charisma Mad Hatter logo at the top, and all stapled together.

This displays some minor wear & signs of age, as you woud expet to see with most paper goods, but has no rips or tears, just a few marks around the staples on the back.

Programme:

This is only the second example of this we have ever seen!

On Tour - Extremely rare circa 1972/73 UK programme handout, printed with the lyrics to the song Supper's Ready along with explanation text, black & white printed with a brown ting to the print, with all text & print sharp. The front has a great image of the band members in front of a tall building surround by trees (the same on the front of the press booklet), with the the band logo which was used on the Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot albums only. The special guests for the shows were String Driven Thing, with this clearly printed at the bottom on the front.

This example has a couple of minor fold marks where it must have been folded to put in a pocket at one of the shows, otherwise remains in a really nice condition, now almost fifty years old!
