This was one of the last 'swirl' releases and most copies of this that surface are on the 'spaceship' label, which replaced the 'swirl' design in late 1972.
An astonishing debut from the band although not the first from Alex Harvey, with a switch from blues to heavy rock & roll with even a tinge of folk at times.
Highlights of this album being the classic title track, Hammer Song [later covered by Nick Cave], St. Anthony and the fantastic Isobel Goudie.

Condition:
Almost all copies of this release suffer from a serious degree of shelfwear, but this is much better than most.
The sleeve shows just a little scuffing at the spine and corners, along with some minor discolouration in places, most noticable inside the gatefold.
Unusually, this has no splits at the gatefold and the die cut window on the front is still sharp edged.

The vinyl has retained its sheen and has obviously been very well looked after. Upon very close inspection there are a few light paper scuffs evident but these are primarily cosmetic and have no efffect on play whatsoever.

Not 'Mint', no, but probably as close as you are going to get these days.
An extremely acceptable copy of this magnificent album.
