"I'll play it and tell you what it is later..."

Relaxin' captures the effortless genius of The Miles Davis Quintet of '56. With no pre-rehearsals & only a set of loose standards for material, the spontaneity of these sessions is mindblowing. Rudy Van Gelder captures this nightclub-type set to perfection, where Miles called tunes just as he would for any number of typical sets at a club. There were no second takes.

Condition :-

The sleeve is a real stunner & remains off white with no writing or tears so often found with French LP jackets, especially of this vintage. The album notes are exclusively in French & remain as sharp as the day they were first printed. The J-C Bernath artwork deserves to be framed in its own right & is unique to this release. The flipbacks are secure & there is just a little ring wear on the front, with a vintage gold Discotheque sticker on the back.

The heavyweight vinyl is fast approaching near mint, with a deep sheen both sides & merely a few faint signs of play, with no scratches or blemishes. We have professionally cleaned the record & playback is immense. This is an Excellent example of a rare French mono original of Relaxin', one of the most important works in the canon of Miles Davis masterpieces for Prestige.
