SONNY ROLLINS East Broadway Run Down (1980 Japanese issue of the 1966 3-track stereo LP, which bubbles & seethes from the word go. Tried & tested from their time with John Coltrane, Jimmy Garrison & Elvin Jones drive the trio to the heights oftheir powers. Sometimes Jones appears to have four hands & feet, while Garrison treats the bass as though it were an oversize guitar. Right from the start the throbbing beat is forced upon Rollins' tenor sax, and he takes it up with a vengeance! The sleeve & insert show a little discolouring with age yet the vinyl remains near mint, with obi VIM-5563)
