DEXTER GORDON Sophisticated Giant (1997 issue Austrian pressed 8-track CD album - Originally released in 1977, 'Sophisticated Giant' was the second album Dexter recorded for Columbia and includes standards like 'Laura', Lionel Hampton's jaunty1940s big band bounce 'Red Top' and Shaw's frequently-covered free-bop number 'The Moontrane'. This digitally remastered edition comes expanded with the 2 Bonus Recordings 'Diggin' In' & 'It's Only A Paper Moon' [taken from 1979's 'Great Encounters']. Complete with an picture booklet containing extensive sleevenotes! CK65295)
