Here was a band who in 1985 wanted to make an album that sounded like it was made in 1967. It was destined for either catostrophic failure or huge success. So while the XTC album 'Big Express' was being mixed, Andy was also strumming psychedelic Dukes sketches into his cassette recorder. John Leckie agreed to produce the project & The Dukes were born!
